Arrow's Story...
My friends with Hanover Humane will be placing me in a home in the Richmond, Virginia metropolitan area (counties bordering on Hanover Humane's facility in Ashland, Virginia).

Hello! My name is Arrow and I’m a Lab mix boy born in September of 2013. I ended up at Hanover Humane when they transferred me from Richmond Animal Care and Control. When I first got to HHS, I was a little stiff and unsure, but now I’m a major love bug. My favorite activity is receiving belly scratches. While I am a young dog, I am fairly calm, and very attentive. So far I’ve liked every human and dog I’ve met, but I haven’t met any cats yet. The fee to adopt me is $150, I come neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations (DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies), on heartworm preventative, microchipped, and with a month of free pet health insurance. Come meet me on Saturday mornings, between 9 AM and 12 Noon or call the kennel to see me on weekdays. You can find me at the HHS kennels on Route 1 in Ashland. That's 12190 Washington Hwy, just north of Minor’s Fences.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arrow, a Ashland Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Ashland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Ashland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashland paves the way for another one to be saved.
