My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

MEET RINGO....and yes, he is a star!! This gorgeous, red/white, 1 yr (DOB 3/2013), Lhasa Apso boy was given up because he tore his ACL, and the family could not pay for the surgery. When they called us, we knew he needed immediate treatment, so we took him in and he had surgery. He had been recovering at his foster home but his recovery was going very slowly. We weren't sure why he wasn't healing and so we brought him back in only to learn that in addition to his torn ACL, he also had a broken hip, so he required an FHO. His surgery was 1/21/2014, but it has taken a while for him to be fully healed. Ringo is a ring leader....alpha in nature, a little willful....but not aggressive. He loves to play with other dogs, his toys, his people....he is very afffectionate and kissy. When you talk to him, he tilts his head in the very cutest way -- it is precious to see! Ringo loves to go for walks and meet the world -- can use practice on the leash. Now that he has full use of his leg, he has the energy of the puppy he is! Unfortunately, his foster mom has had some personal conflicts that have usurped her time, so Ringo will need some assistance in the potty training department. Since he is a puppy, this shouldn't be difficuilt. He has all the puppy traits... he loves his chewies and bones!! He does love to cuddle and snuggle and be a lovebug. One thing we can tell you is he doesn't like cats! He's just a little tooooo interested! We're not sure of Ringo's history, but after all he has been thru, we have noticed that he doesn't like to be surprised, so young kids would not be a good idea for him. The right family for Ringo will be a patient one looking for a wonderful dog who will be a fantastic companion with a bit of training. Kids over 12 yrs old would be good and another playful dog imperative. Does that sound like you? Ringo will drum his way into your heart if you let him....especially after he gets his shaggy hair makeover!!

We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

We currently hold our weekly adoption events every Sunday (unless we are doing a special event) at the WESTFIELD CENTURY CITY MALL located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Century City, Los Angeles 90067. Enter off Santa Monica Blvd and park in the ORANGE section in the parking structure. Take the escalator up and follow the signage. We will be located near the Brooks Brothers (look for the purple tent in the Plaza between the two buildings) from 12 - 4PM

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption…and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
