Maya's Story...
Maya is a 2 to 3 year old Chihuahua who weighs 6 to 7 pounds. She has beautiful brown and tan markings, and has the most expressive eyes. When you first meet her, she is very timid, but once you gain her trust, she is very devoted. She prefers Men over Women but will warm up to women over time. Food is a very good incentive for her. She is food aggressive so small children are not recommended for her. She prefers her “cave” (kennel) and spends a lot of time in there (with the door opened). She will require someone who can be very patient with her since trust is a big issue with her. She will let you know when a stranger is near and will bark. She really is a good pup once you get to know her! Please email Beth (vanlew4345@yahoo.com) for information on how to adopt Maya or visit www.azchihuahuarescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
