My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DRUCKER is a 2 year old black male Lab who weighs 70 pounds. He's a nice, happy go lucky young fellow. He only has 3/4 of his tail but it wags and wags just the same. He is happy to see other dogs and wants to play and is very people oriented. He's good on leash and is a good rider. He's approved for kids aged 10+.

Update (9/15): Drucker would like to tell you about a few of his favorite things! They are both easy to remember, swimming and balls! This handsome guy loves to fetch especially if it involves water, he is a real water dog! He continues to do well in his foster home and continues spreading his charm and love. This guy is looking for a family that wants to get out and do stuff, he is happy to go along for the ride and star in some adventures! If you're looking for your next partner in fun, Drucker is your go to guy!

Update (9/11): Drucker is such a great combination of puppy and dog. He is playful and energetic and can be silly at times. But he is fully house trained and crate trained already...eliminating training these basics. We are working on him giving back the ball each time he retrieves. Drucker has a great coat and enjoys brushing.

Update (8/17): Drucker enjoys to be with dogs that want to play. He is a good boy, and excited to meet new people and visit new places.

Update (8/15): Drucker has found a hobby he likes even more than retrieving and swimming .... playing with apples! He spotted some apples that fell from a nearby apple tree yesterday and was hilarious--he would grab an apple off the ground, toss it into the air and then jump to catch it himself. After tossing the apple here and there for a bit, he laid on the grass under the tree and chowed down on his refreshing treat.

Update (8/08): Drucker is patiently waiting for his family. He enjoyed some beach time again this week and did lots of retrieving in the bay. He loves watching birds and chases any on the ground in the yard....no matter how far away they are. He understands the ones in the sky aren't reachable but intently watches them fly, especially seagulls. He also likes to watch out the window as vehicles pass the house. When in the car, he will watch through the front windshield for cars, then watch the car pass through the backseat window and follow it through the back windshield, he is a curious guy!

Update (7/29): Drucker has made new friends over the past few days. He played fetch with his foster's friends but was most excited about the four legged pal that came along! He was friendly and playful with the visiting lab. He sure was tuckered out after hours of playing and swimming with his new bud!

Update (7/23): Drucker vacationed at the beach for a couple days and had a blast! This boy is a water dog! He loved retrieving into the bay and would have done it all day if someone just kept throwing the ball. Now that we are home he quickly adjusted back to the normal routine.

Update (7/14): Drucker is an independent but social guy. He very much enjoys running in the yard and fetching tennis balls. He is so funny to watch when he gets distracted by passing insects or a butterfly! Sometimes he is quick enough to catch it and other times he just has a good time with the chase. He has found the steps into the swimming pool and enjoys paddling out for a swim or to fetch a toy! In the evening He will relax on his bed or on the sofa with his fosters as they watch tv. At bed time he is easily directed into his crate and sleeps quietly through the night. He takes treats gently and loves to play with his toys.

Update: Drucker is an active and amusing fellow. He is a retriever at heart, always interested in a game of fetch, loves to play with all squeaky toys. He occasionally barks at the cat, but has quickly learned not to mess with him. He is house trained and crate trained. He is a smart boy, and his recall is excellent!! He has earned some freedom, he is now off leash in the house and free to explore. In just 24 hours he has learned how to properly say “hello” to the other dog in the house. He likes Rose and would prefer to play rough, but that is not her thing. He has learned to sit nicely with a hand signal and takes treats gently. He pulls on the leash so an Easy walk harness would do best. This morning he went for a 2 mile run/walk and he tried to jump into a workman’s truck and say hi to him. He is a social butterfly, always interested in meeting new people. He's looking for an active family, preferably with a fenced in backyard where he can burn off his puppy energy.
