Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Poochi! I'm a six-year-old Pomeranian mix, weighing less than five pounds! I'm housebroken, get along with other dogs, and with cats. I don't like to play too rough, but I'd be a great companion for dogs with similar energy levels. One of my favorite things to do is people watch, so it would be great for my forever home to have a porch or a window where I could sit and watch the world go by. I had some dental issues when I first got to Operation Ava, and they pulled fifteen of my teeth out, so I'll have to eat only wet food from now on. That's ok though, I think it's tasty. I'm a bit shy at first, but I warm up to people quickly. Come meet me and see if I'm the right dog for you!
All Operation Ava dogs and cats receive a wellness exam by our veterinarian and are up to date with vaccinations. They are spayed or neutered before they go to their adoptive families. Dogs over 7 mos. are tested for heartworm and lyme diseases and cats are tested for FeLV and FIV. All Dogs are micro-chipped and are eligible for a complimentary 30 day pet health insurance policy from Shelter care if you provide an E-mail address when you complete the adoption. We will ask you for a veterinary reference or three personal references, proof that you are allowed to have pets if you rent, proof of home ownership if that is the case, and valid identification. All members of your household, including other dogs must be present to meet the adoption candidate. Adoption fees are as follows: Puppies under six months - $350.00, Dogs - $275.00, Senior dogs (7 years and over) - $225.00, Cats and Kittens - $75.00. You do not need an appointment but please call ahead to confirm that the pet you want to meet is still available. 215-240-1240.
