My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Davey is one of 130+ dogs who were seized from a hoarding situation in Southern California in June 2013. Sacramento Independent Animal Rescuers (SIAR) rescued a few dozen of these dogs and has been working hard to get them to learn to trust humans and understand what it is like to be cared for.

Davey is being fostered with us on the ranch and we are looking for that special foster or adoptive home to provide the patience and security that can only be offered in a home environment. All get along with other dogs and, once comfortable, appreciate a good playful romp in the yard.

Here is more info on Davey:

Davey is a sweet boy...about 50lbs. Davey is a tenderhearted hoarding survivor looking for a family to call his own. He has a gorgeous coat with a handsome, strong appearance. Davey has learned to love going on his daily walks. He stays right by your side, making him a great walking buddy. Because of his relaxed personality, Davey has shown to do well with lower energy dogs. Davey does shy away from being pet, but is easily approachable and ready to break out of his shell with the help of a family. He will alert to the presence of strangers but inside he is eager to be a lovey bear. Davey would do best as a companion dog with a mature family or someone single looking for their best friend!

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog. Visit SIAR's website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about the rescue group. Adoption fees range from $150-$250 for dogs.

THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us.We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
