Jade is nearly three years old and so far has not experienced the life of a family dog; her first years were spent making puppies. Adopting a former breeding dog is a huge commitment, and not one that everyone can, or should, do. It takes more than just love but an enormous amount of patience, perseverance, training, time and most importantly acceptance. If you are looking for an immediate connection with a dog, Jade might well not be the dog for you. Her reaction to you could perhaps be different from a typical dog -- no sweet doggy kisses, no wagging tail. However, if you are willing to take pleasure in the small victories and those tender moments of interaction when you least expect it, then possibly you are the right person for Jade.


Jade and Pearl (who recently went to her new home) have been at FIC (l’Ecole de Formation des Intervenants Canins du Quebec) where Virginie Forest and Alain Bonneau and their students have been encouraging them and enjoying their accomplishments. There is a long way to go but deep down in that fluffy white body, there is a little dog who is eager to explore the world and begin to trust a human.
