HERMIE's Story...
Hermie is a four year old chihuahua mix that was found as a stray. He is ten pounds and quite the cuddlebug. He takes awhile to warm up to strangers, but once he knows you - he just wants to be everywhere you are! He loves to be on your lap and curl up under a blanket. He sleeps on the bed at night under the covers. Because of his size and chihuahua personality, he will do best around older children, 12 and up, who respect his boundaries and understand how to treat a small dog. Herman would do well with both dogs and cats but can sometimes be a little lap protective toward the other dogs in his foster home because he wants to keep his personal space. He will make a small growl but never acts on it. Hermie is doing awesome on his housetraining and has no accidents as long as he is on a regular schedule. He is not trained on puppy pads. He is not vocal in the house at all and is also crate trained up to eight hours. He is up to date on all vaccinations, is neutered, and Heartworm tested and on preventative. He also had a dental cleaning at the vet - a $350 value! Hermie would make a wonderful companion!!!! For a little laugh, Hermie sings (howls) along with an opera type commercial that is on TV every time he hears it. It's absolutely adorable! If you would like to meet Herman, please contact his foster!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HERMIE, a Farmington Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Farmington, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Farmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Farmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Farmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Farmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
