My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dori is a sweet 12 week old Lab/Pit Bull mix girl puppy who has come a long way from when she was really young. After being discarded in the woods and left to die, she and her litter of puppies were shot at, leaving one dead another badly injured and all of them very scared and shy due to the trauma of this horrible experience. This litter has been divided up and are with loving fosters who are finding each and every one like Dori to be responsive and gaining confidence and such a pleasure to have in their home. Dori is an absolute sweetheart and will just melt your heart. She loves to play and chase balls and Frisbees and has become best friends with two of the other foster dogs. She absolutely adores the company of people and acts so thankful for the second chance she is given. She loves to adventure around outside with her dog and human friends, but if you go inside she will want to go with you. She is the most loyal companion, and is learning so quickly. She is currently being crate trained and is starting to sleep throughout the night without whining although I'm certain she would prefer to sleep in bed right next to you. She does show some tendencies of an alpha female, but is submissive to humans and my other alpha female dog. She needs a stern but understanding and loving hand to care for her. She does still get scared, or nervous her food will be taken from her but she is learning every day, and ate side by side today with our other puppy. Her foster mom Nicole is just so proud of her progress and wants her to get the best forever home. She does love other dogs and kids but would be fine as an only dog with an owner who is around a lot. She is very loyal but of course does have separation anxiety at the moment. This can be worked through in time. We have not had them but 3 weeks and so we are going to be patient and let time and love heal the souls of these pups. Nothing will cheer you up like how she lights up when she sees you! She is now a typical puppy trying to forget her harmful past and is just as happy as can be and so deserving of a second chance and a loving forever home! Dori will probably grow to be about 50 pounds as an adult dog. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
