Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clinton is a Plott hound (brindle-colored coonhound) that was rescued a few months ago. He was found emaciated and eating gravel. The person who found him contacted our organization for help with his vet care. See his "before" and "after" photos, to fully appreciate his amazing recovery!
After a couple of weeks in foster care, it was discovered that this sweet boy has what is called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which was preventing him from gaining weight.
Clinton is now on a pancreatic enzyme with each meal and is doing wonderfully. He is up to a normal body weight, which with his medication should allow him to remain a healthy happy boy. EPI is a lifelong condition, but with the enzymes, he will lead a normal life.
He is appx 2-3 yrs old, UTD on shots, neutered, housebroken and gets along with most dogs. (there was 1 doxie he didnt much care for once...) He is HW+, and he is being treated with the slow kill method of monthly heartguard. He shows no signs of the heartworms.
Clinton is a very happy-go-lucky guy, who constantly wags his tail, even at the vet clinic!! He will need a forever home that is willing to take care of his EPI needs, as this is a lifelong condition. Veterinary references and home check will be required.
