Shep's Story...
Name: Shep
Breed: Aussie/Collie mix
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Shep is a middle aged (5-7 years) Aussie/Collie mix who was surrendered to rescue when his owner got a new puppy, and he is enjoying this turn of events. He lived life as a farm dog prior, and now is getting to enjoy a yard as well as being inside the house... he's so smart, he is quickly catching onto the house training, and not been a chewer. He is tolerant of the other dogs and cats but his interests are with the people, and how much affection he can get from his foster mom. He loves to nudge and lean and poke his nose into your hand for some pets. Shep is currently on meds for Lymes, which is treatable, and has some stiff joints. He could stand to lose some weight, get some exercise and have a soft bed. He's a very easy, mellow dog who wants a peaceful home to retire in. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com with questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shep, a Minneapolis Australian Shepherd/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Collie for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Collie dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
