My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jerry aka Jerusalem is a handsome, playful, friendly and lively ten-year-old, 75-pound, male, German Shepherd looking for a loving guardian.

Jerry was dropped off at an Aurora kennel when his family had financial problems. They lost their home and would often come by the kennel to pay their bill and visit their dog. Sadly, it’s been almost a year and the family stopped visiting and stopped paying their boarding fee.

Jerry is now looking for a new loving family. He may be ten years old – technically a senior, but he is full of life and love. He is not at all intimidating or hesitant with new people. He’s great with other dogs and lived with a black Labrador who sadly passed away while boarding at the same kennel – possibly due to bloat.

Jerry sits on command and can catch a treat mid-air. He loves tennis balls and can play endless games of fetch. He rides well in the car and he is now looking for a true shepherd-lover to take him under their wing for his golden years.

Jerry is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in adopting him, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net. His adoption donation of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. He is currently kenneled in Aurora, Illinois.
