My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Opie was rescued from a kill shelter in Louisiana. He had been dropped off overnight in the drop off area at the shelter. As you can see from the picture above, he had been neglected and was severly matted. He had to be completely shaved as the mats went right to the skin. In spite of his rocky start, he is the sweetest boy. He is very much a puppy yet, and he loves to play. He hasn't met a dog he doesn't like! He has been around a 3 yr old girl, being hugged and loved on, and he was happy for the attention. He is housebroken, though sometimes he will mark the first day at a new home. He is very into toys and chewies. He has a lot of energy but also loves some snuggle time. He is a little guy, weighing in at 12 lbs. He will require grooming or if you let his hair grow, he will definitely need daily brushing. Opie would do best in a home with another dog, or an active family who will play with him and let him work out all his puppy energy! We estimate his age to be around 1 year, possibly a little younger. Opie had a very rough start and needs a loving home. This little guy was dumped by whoever owned him into a heartstick shelter in the middle of the night. He managed to make it out before his 4 days were up and escape a horrible fate. Still, he is a very happy boy. Loves everyone! If you can give Opie the loving home he deserves, please email us for an application. This cute little guy is looking for a family to call his own! A family that will give him a forever home, not dump him in a scary shelter.
An application is not a commitment, so email today to request one if you are even a little interested!
