My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our rescue sees many pit bulls and we understand the negative responses that these dogs elicit. But occasionally one comes along that we feel we must try everything possible to find them the home they deserve. Cookie is one such dog. Cookie was found wandering down the middle of a street in our town --- just in the middle of town. She was massively pregnant, but no identification, no owner reclaim, just a very pregnant soon to be momma dog looking for help. The puppies have come and gone and now we are focused on Cookie and helping her to find a great home too. Cookie is a female, pit bull. She is approx 18 - 24 months old and currently weighs 35 - 40 lbs. She is at her adult size and weight. She is up to date on vaccines and has been spayed since the puppies are gone. We have her on all monthly preventatives for heart worms, fleas/ticks, and parasites. She is a beautiful brindle color and the only thing that mars this gorgeous coat is a scar on her back between her shoulder blades. We have seen this on occasion. There is some "home remedy" that people will put on the dogs for fleas/ticks and it causes a burn on the dog's skin. We see this pattern a lot where people have attempted to do something good for the dog and it did just the opposite. The scar is about the size of a half dollar and star shaped. Photo available if interested. Cookie has shown herself to be very friendly, very social, and just a good girl who is in need of a great home, but unfortunately is a pit bull. If you are interested in this wonderful girl who deserves a chance to be loved just like any other dog, contact me. Serious inquiries only. We extensively screen any adopter interested in any pit bull.
