My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper's story has to be a very sad story. We only know about his story from the day he arrived at the rescue, but his eyes tell a very sad tale of mostly neglect. Cooper shows no signs of abuse and actually is so very friendly and social and loving. He was first introduced to our rescue from a Facebook posting from a local resident. They had spotted this poor dog drinking water from the large creek that runs through the middle of the local town. He had horrible mange and very little of his brindle coat was still there. His nails on all four feet were so long that they resembled an eagle's claw. And his feet are splayed or the toes all spread to support his weight which is an indication of malnutrition as a puppy and younger dog. Facebook postings locally led us to the dog and our processes started to help this poor dog who had obviously been dumped. Cooper has been with us for several weeks now. His mange has nearly cleared and we are seeing his beautiful short brindle coat. He has been neutered and is up to date on vaccines. On all monthly preventatives as well. Cooper is getting extra vitamins and nutrition, but the splayed feet will probably always remain. He is an ugly duckling for sure, but we are hopeful that someone will see the inner beauty in this wonderful guy and want to offer him the home that he deserves. Serious inquiries only. We extensively screen any applicants for our pit bulls.
