My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bev is such a loving girl with both humans and other dogs that Farfel's Rescue was contacted by the shelter in Texas...could we possibly find a special and committed home for this exceptional Terrier/Havanese mix? We're not entirely sure if that's truly her breed combo...could be...but what we are sure of is that this adorable and scruffy little girl is worthy of a wonderful forever home. Bev quietly creeps into your heart...her behavior is so wonderful and no dog could want to please more. At about 1.5 - 2 years old and 19 lbs, Bev is a blank slate just waiting for loving guidance and clear boundaries so she understands how to be a great adult companion. Bev just naturally has a great temperament and the curiosity to learn how to please...she gets so excited when she feels she's done a good job! Bev's Houston foster mom had the following to say about this cutie-pie:

Bev is so very sweet that I just want to hug her at all times! This truly beautiful girl (her photos in no way do her adorable face justice) loves attention and gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes (my dogs really enjoy her fun spirit and friendly nature) Bev loves to run and play - I think she'd be perfect to take on hikes on those gorgeous Colorado trails. It looks to me like Bev is mostly terrier..but she also has the adorable fluffiness of a Havanese-type dog. Bev is so good in the house that I haven't needed to crate her. My dogs have always slept in an extra room in my house with dog beds everywhere, toys and always water. I work overnight so this arrangement works well. I've taken Bev out and about for socialization... she walks great on a leash and is pleasant and stress-free to take anywhere. She would be a great family companion with gentle children 10+ (don't want her poked or her tail pulled with young kids) and involved parents. I'd also love to see her in a home with active retirees - she would blossom with the love and attention.

We're searching for a truly devoted home for Bev with a family who wants to include a sweet and silly girl in their lives. She would respond so well to socialization...coming along to dog-friendly spots to interact with as many humans and dogs as possible...this will teach her how fun and positive the world is. We would also like to see Bev enrolled in group positive reinforcement training classes to bring out her great behavior and cement her bond with her family.

Bev is arriving on transport in Denver on 5/23. Applications are currently being accepted for this extremely loving and and exceptional companion.
