Vanilla is absolutely the sweetest little angel in history! The poor baby was dropped at the shelter with her 2 brothers Mr. Coffee and Mr. Bean (who we unfortunately could not rescue).
About a month ago, a Blues City volunteer took Vanilla home for the weekend just to give her a break from the shelter. What a nice guest she was! So nice in fact, that the same volunteer couldn't stop thinking about her! She went back for Vanilla a few weeks later and, even though her home is totally full, is fostering Vanilla until she finds her forever home! Miss Vanilla rides perfectly in the car and is quiet in her crate. She really enjoys exploring the backyard. Vanilla is a smart girl; she figured out the doggy door the first day!! She gets along great with all the large dogs and the 1 small dog in the foster house. She is ALWAYS the submissive in a group. If she has a bone, she will drop it when another dog comes up. However, she will cuddle up with the other dogs on the dog bed. She is also submissive to kitty cats.
Vanilla wants love more than anything in the world! Even though she is timid now, I think she would be settled and comfortable in a new home in a week. She made huge strides in just 60 hours on her weekend field trip. However, she will never be an alpha dog. She has no desire to be. She will stay right by you wherever you go. She will lay still beside you for hours. She doesn't seem to be mouthy or hyper at all.
Vanilla looks like a pocket lab, basically she has the appearance of a lab but is half the size. She is about 7 months old now and we think she will be less then 50 lbs full grown. She has a white coat with faint tan spots on her ears (this is where we see some terrier or spaniel).
Please give Vanilla the loving home she deserves.
Vanilla's $425 adoption fee includes microchip, transport to the Midwest, and a health certificate. She is up to date on shots, and current on heart worm, flea, and tick preventative.
