Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi - My name is Rikki, and I'm a young smooth-coated Fox Terrier. We can’t all be show dogs, but my grandpa was and I have my AKC pedigree to show for it. I had FCP surgery last September to repair my elbow dysplasia but it still gets kind of sore if I run as much as I’d like to. So I need to find a forever home with someone who can help me remember to take some time out to rest. Then I’d be the perfect P.E.T (playful, enthusiastic, trainable.)
My foster family says I need to live as an only fox terrier with adults experienced with young fox terrier energy, intelligence and curiosity. I do have some big dog buddies and we can play with no problems. I love to play with my humans, I even make up games to get their attention with my agility and ball skills. The best place for me to play and run will be a yard with a secure fence, not too near the neighbors, since I do have terrier instincts. In my former home I ran freely inside an Invisible Fence, so I’m just now learning to walk on a leash. I love to sit on a high vantage point outside (or inside a window) and watch whatever passes by. I can ride in a crate or calmly in the back seat for car trips, but I’m always so happy to get out! I’m not the clingy type and I’m OK with sleeping in a bed on the floor, but I’d prefer to sleep on your bed all snuggled in close. If you have the time and patience for training my adolescent energy, I’d like to show you what a great dog I am.
