My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Pib is an adorable long haired female Chihuahua who was born on September 10, 2011 which make her 2.5 years old. She is a tiny girl at 5 pounds and she has the spunky personality of a Chihuahua diva!!!! Pib gets along well with other small dogs and she would do best in a home with another small dog for a playmate (any small breed would be fine). Like most little dogs, she is house trained when taken out very regularly but if you don’t take her out she will potty in the house—she doesn’t know how to ask to go out. Pib is in rescue as she is an only dog who is home alone for long hours and appears to be very bored with her life. She will be happiest with someone who is home much of the time and another canine playmate. She is safe with kids who are 10 and older and who have small dog experience. Pib would love having a little girl who would dress her up and paint her nails. She loves to have attention paid to her. Pip loves to go on walks when the weather is nice and she also has some favorite toys she plays with. She just cannot be left home alone for long hours and her surrendering owner realizes she needs an environment where she gets more attention. Pib has been very well cared for and is in excellent health. This doll baby will probably live to a ripe old age and she is really just out of the puppy stage. Pib is with Happy Hound Rescue. Her adoption fee is $300.00. She is spayed, heartworm negative on on prevention for heartworms and flea/ticks. Her shots are up to date and she has a HomeAgain microchip.
