Misty's Story...
A sweet and gentle girl like me deserves better than being left here in a shelter. I am a timid girl to start and all I am looking for is a home where I can get some love and attention to bring me out of my shell. I little confidence building and I will be good as gold in no time. I am young and fun, eager to please and just looking to make you happy. I would love to find a new home maybe one with children to help teach me how fun life can be. I am crate trained, housebroken and am learning some basic commands. Now all I need is someone to make my dream of a new family come true- might that be you? 7 months old-45lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; spay, microchip, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area only), 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Misty, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
