My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

02-15-08 Friendly Dan is smooth hair black & tan, 18#, neutered, fully vaccinated, DOB 05-12-04.
He is very social, rides well in the vehicle, wags his tail at everyone.

Dan was a total kennel close-out, small breeder, all had to go at same time. The receiving breeder already had a male dachshund that worked well for their small dogs. Thus, Dan was sent to us via Doc. Now our Dan has a chance to become someone's best friend and beloved companion! Dan has a great life ahead of him....are you the one to help him get there?
If you want a tall, dark, handsome fur-man, Dan is for you.

Dan is recovering quietly from surgery.
His likes & dislikes will be evaluated over the next few days. He will be safely cat tested.
Once his likes & dislikes are determined, we will then know if he is ready for a foster home.

PM - Dan is doing well with all the small dog pack, both male & female. He is inquisitive about the house.
He has shown some mild interest in the cat.

02-16 Dan is a dandy! He slept quietly all night long in his crate. He made himself part of the small dog pack, no issues with any of them.

We do suggest close supervision until Dan settles in. He has settled down nicely, is taken out on a regular schedule,.
He & the cat have met muzzle to whisker, did very well. He will bark at the cat, no viciousness.

02-18 In the interest of peace & quiet, a fur-ever home without felines would probably suit Dan best.
Dan has found dozing on a Kuranda bed quite to his liking. Someone has done a GREAT job with this fur-kid in the past. He's friendly with visitors, loves to be held, petted.

02-20 Dan the Man! He has done so well so quickly. He gathers with the other fur-kids for a treat, checks out the fridge. He has known at some point in his life a good caretaker.
His house manners have improved tremendously. He goes out on schedule, then hops upon the Kuranda bed. He still barks a greeting at the cat, sniffs his whiskers, then walks away.
He will occasionally snore. He is enjoying lap time, belly rubs.
