Gaia's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting this kitty, please go to Click Here and fill out an application.

This sweet girl needs a home where she can relax and just be a cat! She is barely 2 years old and has already lived such a hard life. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she has had litters of her own and has selflessly acted as surrogate to 5 other kittens while pregnant herself. She is the epitome of motherhood and watched every move her surrogate kittens made.

She loves to spend her days looking out the window at birds and napping in sunbeams. In the evening she sits beside her foster mom, watching TV and chatting about the day. She is quite a social cat and loves company but takes a while to trust. She will come when you call her and will tap you with her paw to get attention or treats but is still unsure about being held. She deserves a life of leisure and fun (she LOVES toys) and will reward your loyalty with trust and affection with time. She is likely not compatable with young children or busy households but would be a good fit for someone wanting a calm companion who comes with one heck of a life story!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gaia, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
