~ABOUT ME~

Hi I'm Porcello! I came to POET as an owner surrender, I lived almost exclusively outdoors before coming to POET. Can you believe that? A little guy like me living outside?

I am a little bit of an escape artist and since I'm small, my yard has to be extra secure. Good thing is, I don't really run away. Both times I escaped from my foster families yard I just hung out in the front yard.

I am one of the biggest lapdogs ever. Anytime my foster parents are sitting, I am in their lap. I'm not particularly high energy for a younger dog, I play a little bit with toys but I don't really need an active family to live with. If you are looking for a playmate for your dog or your kids, that is not me. I don't mind dogs and older kids, but I probably won't play with them either.

If you would like to adopt me, please complete an application online at www.poetanimalrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Porcello, a Garden City Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Garden City, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Garden City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garden City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garden City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garden City paves the way for another one to be saved.
