Elsa is a beautiful, young dog with a sweet and gentle nature. She is affectionate with a soft touch. Elsa greets volunteers entering her kennel with restrained enthusiasm, clearly happy for the visit, but not jumpy or demanding. She is easy to leash up, as she will actually stand still to have her gear placed on her tall, muscular frame. Elsa loves to feel close to her person and will sometimes lean in to establish more contact or raise her paw to rest it against you. Elsa arrived at the shelter unfamiliar with the leash but has made good progress learning loose-leash walking. She shows strong, quiet interest in other dogs on walks and will sometimes forget her loose-leash walking skills and start pulling when she sees them.
Elsa is receiving training at BAD RAP's Pit Ed class with a volunteer handler and is eligible to continue for FREE (normal fee $100) with her adopters after she goes home. At BAD RAP, Elsa is learning basic obedience commands and to follow her handler despite the distraction of all her doggie classmates. Elsa enjoys playing with other dogs and has made quite a few friends at the shelter, including male and female dogs. Elsa can be cautious in some situations and will likely look to her new person for reassurance and to help her navigate the world outside the shelter.
