Phoenix's Story...
We can all take a lesson about optimism and overcoming challenges from this boy. Meet Pheonix, he has a story that will stop you in your tracks. He was saved once from a fighting ring where he was used as a bait dog. He was saved twice when he was adopted from the shelter, then things took a turn when his owner fell ill and was unable to care for him correctly. She began to pour household pesticides on him to prevent "bugs"... Thanks to a vigilant family member who noticed he was not looking like him self and was acting strangely, she was able to figure out what was happening. She didn't waste time and immediately called us, willing to do anything she could to get him to safety. So, he was saved a third time yesterday and we will make darn sure this amazing boy only knows bliss for the rest of his life. Despite all he has gone through, he is all smiles, love and tail wags. He still fully trusts humans, loves other dogs and kids and is eager to please. He has truly earned his name. He is 4 years old, about 70 pounds, crate and house trained, up-to-date on shots, neutered and microchipped. If you are ready to be his hero shoot us an email at TeamSKRescue@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoenix, a Aiken Dogo Argentino/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dogo Argentino/American Bulldog for sale in Aiken, or seeking a Dogo Argentino/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Aiken.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aiken already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aiken breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dogo Argentino/American Bulldog breeders who help with Dogo Argentino/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aiken paves the way for another one to be saved.
