For at least two years Rosie lived alone on the street constantly being attacked and beaten up by the large male cats in the neighborhood. A couple who recently bought a home in the area noticed Rosie and began feeding her. Immediately Rosie started staying close to their house and at night she would even follow the couple all the way around the block when they would walk their dogs. It became a ritual and was absolutely adorable.

Even though Rosie was clearly desperate to find a bond with someone she was too nervous to let them touch her still at that point. They put a blanket out and tried to provide a safe spot for her. She loved it, but at night she would get attacked by cats in the neighborhood and the couple would have to run outside to chase the other cats away. The couple persisted to try and get close to her and finally they caught her. They took her to the vet to find out she had cuts and scratches all over her from the other cats but otherwise she was in good health. They would adopt her themselves in a second but they can't because their larger dog is very aggressive to new animals. They couldn't put her back out on the street though. So for now Rosie is in their guest room but that has to be temporary.

We are hoping that if you are reading this then you might be Rosie's answer. This cat so deserves an amazing home. She is still nervous with new people, but who can blame her after all she has experienced surviving on her own. She deserves to be safe now though and when she is safe she blossoms. All she wants is love and if someone is patient they will get a ton of it from her. What an affectionate girl she is! Watch her video and see (and hear) how much she loves it when she feels safe. Rosie also LOVES other cats and does great with cat friendly dogs.

About Take Me Home Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Take Me Home (TMH) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that has been saving the lives of homeless animals for more than twelve years. We work in conjunction with shelters and rescues throughout California and beyond to help save dogs on death row, on the streets or in unsafe living conditions. Our team is driven by love, compassion and doing right by innocent animals who have no voice.

We are very skilled in running mobile dog adoptions and working with families in all aspects of finding their new family member. We also have an on-site trainer at most of our adoption events and available as a resource after our dogs are placed in loving homes.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on all shots and are micro-chipped. If we pull a dog from a shelter, we will quarantine him/her to ensure they are healthy before they go home. We also have an amazing foster program available for our special needs and older dogs.

As with any non-profit organization, we rely solely on funds from generous and cherished supporters to keep our doors open to save more lives. If you're not ready to adopt, please still consider donating to Take Me Home ( today. Every little bit helps!

Our Adoption Process...

All potential families must complete a short and easy application, talk to one of our friendly adoption volunteers and undergo a convenient home check.

Before a dog goes home, all families must complete and sign an adoption contract and we do ask for a suggested donation on all adoptions.
