Sawyer's Story...
Sawyer is a 6 year old male Labrador/Pointer mix that came from the Irving shelter. Sawyer loves playing fetch and he loves toys that squeak. He is a sweet boy who loves to snuggle and give kisses. He loves taking long walks and riding in the car. He loves to swim in the pool and run in the water at Lake Texoma. He gets along well with female dogs (but is selective about males), and is gentle with cats and kids. He has a lot of energy and loves being with his people most of all. He thinks he is a big lap dog and will lay next to you (or on top of you) on the couch to get his belly rubbed. A backyard with a solid wood 6-foot fence is essential (not chainlink). Also essential would be an active family who would include him as part of their day-to-day routine. He is not happy sitting in a crate. Sawyer is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, housetrained, crate trained and heartworm NEGATIVE. He currently weighs approximately 55-60 lbs and is healthy and ready for his very own forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sawyer, a Irving Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Irving, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in Irving.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Irving already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Irving breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Irving paves the way for another one to be saved.
