My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mae is a super sweet and gentle girl who just weaned a litter of 6 beautiful pups. She was a great momma, but now it's her turn to be somebodies baby. She gets along with the resident dog in her foster home and is loving getting loves from her foster mom. She is a lover who has a calm and gentle demeanor. She hasn't met a dog or person she hasn't liked, especially if they are willing to pet or play with her! She has adjusted to home living beautifully. She doesn't seem to be a barker or a chewer. During the day Mae has proven that she can be trusted with free reign of the house along with the resident dog. During the night Mae sleeps where ever she is most comfortable. Sometimes it is in bed with her foster mom or on the floor or in her crate with the door open or on the couch. She isn't choosy. Mae is estimated to be around a year old and 43 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday July 26, 2014, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, at their new location, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
