Heidi's Story...
Hi, my name is Heidi and I am a 6 month old Great Pyrenees/Golden/Lab mix. I was found as a stray and turned in to an animal shelter. Then these nice people at AGK took me into their rescue and I am so happy to be in my foster home! I am a little timid at first but very sweet and I'm learning the world is not too scarey. I need a home with another playful dog to show me the ropes. So if you are looking for a sweet and loving pup, ask for me - Heidi!

If interested adopting in Heidi, visit our website at http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a Windam Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever for sale in Windam, or seeking a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Windam.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windam already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windam breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windam paves the way for another one to be saved.
