Bowzer's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Bowzer's Story...
Bowzer is a gorgeous boy, he's approximately 4-5 months old and is a collie/lab mix. He and his 2 sisters Bella and Bindi were sitting on death row in a high kill shelter in North Carolina, and one of our sister rescues begged us to pull them. All three of these dogs are healthy, happy and gentle dogs. They love the company of humans as well as that of dogs, and for sure Bindi loves the company of cats.

If you'd like to meet this dog, please send an email to sweetestdogrescue@gmail.com and ask that an adoption application be sent to you. Once you've been approved, we'd be delighted to set up the meet and greet!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bowzer, a Shelter Island Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelter Island, or seeking a Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Shelter Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelter Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelter Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelter Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
