My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We just adore our mild mannered Sebby! This spectacular five year old Miniature Pinscher came to us recently from an overcrowded urban Animal Control facility where he spent some time after the Animal Cops found him sauntering through a rather notorious housing project.

If truth be told, Sebby was not so much sauntering as he was waddling, since he was clearly fat and overfed at a whopping 22 pounds. As we've lamented before, obesity is NEVER a good look on a Min Pin! As far as the royal King of the Toys goes, Sebby was the spittin' image of Henry VIII.

Chubby is not what we expect to see in stray dogs who have had to forage for food as part of their daily survival ritual. Clearly, Sebby was somebody's pet, and yet nobody stepped up after exhaustive attempts were made to find his rightful owners.

After his 14 day stray hold expired, Sebby joined us in the country for the spa life, and we have managed to trim 7 pounds of blubber off his frame, to reveal this chiseled, muscular physique. Adopters should maintain his boyish figure through a nutritious grain free diet, rich in nutrients and omega fats.

Sebby has an exceptional temperament and has earned accolades and great behavior reviews throughout his rescue process. He loves people and is generally friendly to all. He would be a great choice for an active, dog savvy family, because he isn't likely to play favorites, and at 15 pounds, is robust enough to withstand raucous kid play. Sebby is good with other dogs, and possibly with cats, if introductions are properly supervised.

Sebby would fit nicely into the active lifestyle of a single or couple, who enjoy the spirited companionship of an adult dog. At the age of five, Sebby is past the puppy mayhem years, and can easily adapt to apartment life, or travel anywhere with his adopters. He is an energetic dog, who would love to accompany his people on walks, runs or hikes.

Sebby is a bit behind the learning curve on his obedience training, and it seems that part of his development has been ignored. We find Sebby extremely eager to please and willing to work for treats and praise. He is a joy to train, and we recommend that his adopters continue him on the road to Canine Good Citizenship, to reach his tremendous potential.

Sebby is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Sebby, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.
