Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stephen King, Carrie, Christine, and Lisey were born in the woods to a mother who was feral. They were born in January '08 and lived in the den during very cold weather - sometimes below zero at night. She had dug a den in the dense underbrush and had provided for them by killing ducks and rabbits in the surrounding farm community. When a kind person from a nearby house tried to locate the pups one night, the flashlight he was carrying shone on the mother and spooked her. She ran onto the highway and was killed instantly. He crawled into the den and brought the four pups out. A fifth one was found dead near the den. He and his family fed the pups and kept them warm until we could get them into a foster home. Luckily, the pups were old enough to be weaned and are eating dry food. ******************************************************************************* The mother of the pups was a beautiful medium-sized dog with a solid red/liver long coat. Our best guess as to her breeding is Australian Shepherd or long-coat German Shepherd. She had a long tail, golden eyes, and was built like a small German Shepherd - a very beautiful dog. We're guessing that the father was a Lab. ********************************* King and Lisey are solid black, while Carrie and Christine are a rich dark chocolate color. They're in surprisingly good health and are not afraid of people. They're playful, happy pups who are ready for permanent adoptive homes. They've been vaccinated for the first time and wormed. They will be adopted on spay/neuter contracts. The adoption donation requested for each of the pups is $100, 100% of which is used to offset the cost of high-quality food, vet care, and the many other direct expenses of rescuing dogs.
