Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IDGSR WELCOMES THOR INTO THE RESCUE!!!
Thor came to us via another high intake shelter, People who refuse to train in obedience work and give their German Shepherd dog a job to do is setting their relationship up for failure. Obnoxious as all get out was Thor's mentality, But totally not his fault, Difficult, and Rude, We decided that Mr. Oh So full of Himself, needed to go to our trainer where he's gotten a fast education.
Thor is in Doggie Boot Camp where he's learning to Not Be Rude or Obnoxious.
Thor however will need a very strong pack leader who will continue his education and help him to become a 'college graduate'. Thor needs a job to do, he's not going to be content being a couch potato,
he needs to be a running or jogging partner, active walker. Thor has high prey drive so no cats or small dogs, however he listens to his commands well and does not lunge or go after dogs while walking on leash.
He will do fantastic if he has a job, SAR work, Tracking, ManTrailing, etc.
HE NEEDS A GERMAN SHEPHERD WORKING LINE EXPERIENCED ADOPTER ONLY!!! Adopting a High drive GS is not for the faint of heart,
Obedience trained now and doing great. Well behaved and easy to handle,
Thor and his disposition is much calmer now that he's Advanced Obedience trained.
The adopters who adopt Thor get a all ready trained dog.
But Thor is not for the faint of Heart, Thor doesn't need someone that is harsh or rough with him, he is a very sensitive boy, He needs the guidance of a owner that believes in him and his high work ethic.
If you would like to make Thor a member of your family, please apply with this rescue by copying and pasting the link below.
