My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello my name is Beethoven but my Foster Dad calls me Beat-thoven because I love to pop my head to the beat. I am a 6 year old fully feathered Umbrella Cockatoo. Since I was about a year old, I lived in a home with A LOT of other birds. I didn’t mind the other birds because my mom and Dad were GREAT and they gave us so much love and attention. Something recently changed though and they could not take care of us anymore, so we came to Florida Parrot Rescue – and now I am looking for a new person to love me! On the subject of love…I LOVE TO BE LOVED! It doesn’t matter if you are a man or woman, as long as you want to snuggle I’m down with it. My fosters have figured out that I love to try and escape my cage, they keep finding ways to keep me in my cage at night though! Don’t they realize how much fun it is for me to find ways to escape? I do enjoy the time outside of my cage in the fresh air I am getting here and all the wooden toys I get to chew. I admit I do step up easier for my Foster Dad and make my Foster Mom work for it, because I think it’s funny. I will even laugh at her when she asks me to step up! The nice woman who cut my nails and clipped my wings said I was a very sweet and special bird. I didn’t even need to be toweled; I just lifted my wings for her when she asked. I promise I really am a sweet bird that just wants to love you. Please come meet me and let’s see if we are match – I would really love a family of my own to love me forever!
