My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gypsy is a sweet girl who is alert, loyal, and friendly. Although she is somewhat reserved large numbers of people at all once, she will greet individual people with enthusiasm. Docile, trustworthy and energetic, Gypsy would be wonderful as a companion for children. She has a mind of her own and is fairly independent, however she is very affectionate and playful. Gypsy is approximately 3 - 4 years old and currently weighs just over 50 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Gypsy is an awesome dog that just wants to snuggle up next to you on the couch (preferably in your lap). She is always happy and likes to just relax and take the it easy in the home. She loves to follow her nose and is always very curious about the world. You can always tell when she's trying to figure things out. She is very bright and is an excellent companion to take on a walk or a hike down a trail.

Gypsy is friendly with everyone she meets but she is especially fond of children. She likes to meet other dogs and will occasionally play a bit but for the most part she just likes to have a sniff and then continue on our walk. Inside she acknowledges other pets but does not have a lot of interest in them. She is an independant girl and can easily amuse herself. She does seem to be much more relaxed around her own family and large crowds of people seem to make her a little stressed. She is generally well mannered however and gets along well with everyone.

She has very good manners in the home and never touches anything she shouldn't. She will watch you attentively when you are eating but would never attempt to take anything. She is beginning to understand sit and wait (stay and will also respond to leave it, or making an 'ah-ah' noise. She is completely house trained and can be left for a normal working day with no issues. She is good about going into her crate when asked but she would never go in on her own. She is generally in the crate for up to three hours each day and at night for sleeping. Gypsy whines when we first leave as you'd expect but is always just sleeping quietly when we get back. According to our neighbor they haven't heard anything from her other than a couple minutes after we first leave. She needs a bit more work with her leash training as she will pull at times but generally she is very good. She is great in the car - sits nicely and just watches quietly out the window.

Gypsy is very energetic and likes to try to be independent but in the end loves to come and snuggle. She is always there and happy to greet you when you get home. Loves being outdoors getting to sniff everything around her. A little bit goofy and just a fun dog to be around. She would be a great companion for a family who are outdoorsy and active.

If you think this sweet girl would be a good fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
