Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is our sweet Millie. Millie has been in our rescue now for over 10 months. This sweetheart was dumped off at a shelter because she had got very skinny and her original owners did not want to spend the money to take her to the vet. They decided instead to just dump her off at the local shelter and have them put her to sleep. Her foster mom walked into the shelter that day when sweet Millie was literally on the table being prepped to be put down. Our foster mom took off running to the back to stop them before it was too late. She succeeded. This little girl was nothing but bones. She didn’t even know she was in this world. She was pretty much at death’s door without any help. Our foster mom decided that if it was her time to leave this world she didn’t deserve to have it happen on a cold table at a scary place like the shelter. She bundled her up and immediately took her to our wonderful vet. It was determined that Millie was a diabetic. We immediately got her on insulin, changed her diet and from there her life turned around. It was determined that she was blind and one of her eyes had to be removed because of the pain it caused her. All from neglect at the hands of her original owner. Since coming into our rescue Millie has blossomed. She has put on weight. There is nothing wrong with her appetite. She does great with the many other dogs that come in and out of the foster home where she is living. She’s a very easy dog to care for. Her foster mom feels very sad for her. So many have come and gone on to their forever homes but sweet Millie always gets looked over. She is a senior gal around 12 years old. However, Cocker Spaniels can live to be around 20 so she still has a lot of years left in her. Millie is a great gal and deserves a home of her own. If you would be willing to open up your home and your heart for Millie please email her foster mom for an application. Millie would do best in a quiet home with maybe someone that is retired. fureverangels@aol.com
