My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley is an adorable and lovable male Yorkshire Terrier looking for a loving guardian. He is guessed to be about 11 or 12-years-old, and weighs only 7.9 pounds. Harley is the gentlest and softest dog I have ever met; he is wonderful with everyone. He follows you everywhere and dances for treats. Harley is a joy to be around. He curls up on the couch and sleeps most of the day, and enjoys sleeping in bed with you at night. He gives lovely kisses especially after his recent dental! Sadly his human has been suffering from cancer and hasn’t been able to care for him for quite some time. He previously lived with at least six other dogs. When I went to pick him up on May 12th, his hair was matted to the skin and soaked with urine. He has since been professionally groomed and his hair is growing back beautifully. He was just neutered a couple of weeks ago and was probably used for breeding. His breath was horrible, and poor Harley had 7 teeth pulled. Did you know dogs start out with 42 teeth, and humans only have 32 - if you include wisdom teeth? His adoption fee of $300 will help defray the cost of his vetting which, as you can imagine, was substantial. He is now beautifully groomed, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. To meet and possibly adopt Harley, please contact his foster mom Sheri at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. He has temporarily joined my family and is living in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
