MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER)'s Story...
MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER) is a handsome male, Great Pyrenees / Border Collie Mix. We estimate his age to be about 3 years young and he is presently about 35 pounds. MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER) was hit by a car and picked up by Animal Control. The Humane Society of Oldham County's dog adoption coordinator stepped up to get the dog appropriate medical care and MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER), had surgery to repair his broken hip/pelvis. Recovery is going splendidly and he will be heading to the CAMP CANINE TRAINING PROGRAM when the doctor gives the all clear. MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER) is a precious dog. He is kind, loyal, loving, affectionate, playful, and most of all HAPPY! He is good with dogs, children, cats, rabbits and even horses. He may have a little skip in his step but the injured joint will require no further treatment. If you would like to meet this dog once he is cleared by the doctor in a couple weeks, please contact the Humane Society of Oldham County at email: lisannehsoc@yahoo.com or phone the office at 502-222-7537.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MIGHTY MAX (aka SKIPPER), a LaGrange Border Collie/Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Border Collie/Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
