My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ash is a cute little miniature dachshund. I believe that his markings are called silver dapple. Ash came to rescue from a breeding situation. He was quite shy when we got him and made a big production of 'biting' us when we went to touch him. Being the brave rescuers that we are and knowing that our stinky boy was going to get a bath no matter how much blood we had to shed to get it done, we just went for it. Guess what? His 'bites' were fake! He never even made contact with our skin so the jig was up and like it or not, we knew that Ash was a sweetie pie. He still has some socializing to do so we wouldn't be comfortable putting him in a home with young children but we know that in the right environment, this little stinker will blossom. Ash is 5 years old and weighs 7 pounds. One thing that may have contributed to his lack of desire to interact is that he had a mouthful of rotten teeth. When we did his dental, he lost 18 teeth and they weren't so much extracted as simply wiped away, according to our vet. Don't think for a minute that he is a toothless boy - he still has plenty of teeth and a gorgeous smile to boot. His left eye is blue and his right eye is brown. Ash is neutered, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm/flea preventative, is microchipped and has had a dental cleaning. Ash's adoption fee is $200 with all vet work done.
