Hank is a friendly, energetic young dog with beautiful golden eyes. He loves to run and play. His foster dad kept him mostly indoors (sometimes in a crate) and took him on walks and to dog parks. He did live with other dogs at that time. He also was obedience trained, but needs a family and trainer who will work with him to get him back to being a “perfect listener” again. Currently he lives outdoors with one other dog and sleeps in his dog house, which is not a way for any dog to live! Since he is a hound dog, he will chase squirrels and even cats. He has learned to climb over our 4’ fence to chase “critters” and will run if not on a leash (but had been trained to lay down and “stay” in the past). He follows simple commands, “sit, down, leave it, and stay (for a minute or two).” He is very smart and “will work for treats.” He needs a large yard with a high fence and guardians who will take the time to work with him.
