found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Literally!! Roxy hails from south Texas and found herself in quite a pickle. She and the puppy’s father (a long-haired Chihuahua) found themselves faced with a crisis when their human parents died and the adult children did not want the dogs. Roxy found herself pregnant and abandoned in a high-kill facility in Texas. The rescue forums sprang into action, and Happy Paws CAAN was able to coordinate with many groups and individuals to transport Roxy and her seven puppies from Texas to Nebraska.
The puppies will be available for adoption at 8 weeks of age (the week of 05/19/14). Roxy was spayed on 05/27/14 and will not have to go through single parenthood again! The boys are named after Mexico’s famous adult beverage (tequila, top shelf of course!) and the girls are named for various flowers. “Goldie” after Nebraska’s state flower, the Goldenrod; and Dahlia is Mexico’s national flower.
The “fluffier” puppies will most likely be long-haired Chis. All of the puppies will be dewormed and receive their first vaccines prior to adoption. We require a pre-paid spay/neuter receipt at your vet and an i.d. tag or microchip (which we can do at our cost). We realize people may change Roxy’s or your new puppy’s name, but less than 25% of animals are reunited with their families due to lack of identification.
We adhere to the “gold standard” guidelines for rescue and require a written application and home visit. An adoption fee applies to both Roxy and the puppies. Please e-mail us at happypaws email@example.com for an application or more information.
NOTE: This fur family resides in a private home, not a facility. We will gladly make an appt for you to meet them, but we must ask for serious applicants only to request a visit in order to protect the puppies’ immunity. Thank you for your understanding!
