Miley's Story...
Young adult female, Tea Cup Chihuahua
I was rescued from a local shelter because I was in such poor condition. Do you know what happens to dogs in “poor” condition in places like that? It’s not nice to think about. Anyway, Oliver and I were rescued together but we don’t like each other that much so we don’t have to be adopted together.
My foster mom says that I am a joy! I am getting the hang of house training and do very well if you keep me on a schedule. I do very well with other dogs and children!!! I weigh about 4 pounds, so be prepared to be amazed at the tiny little package of cuteness, know as Miley. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application and email it to Sunrise. I am currently on medical hold while I get healthy but we are accepting applications.

If you would like more information about our rescue and our dogs, including more photos, visit our website at The application can be found on our website. Just copy and paste the application text from the web page into an email, fill it out and send it in. Home visits and references are required on all adoptions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Miley, a Lakewood Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Lakewood, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Lakewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lakewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lakewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lakewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
