Checkers's Story...
Aside from the occasional rumble from this little panther cub, you won't hear too much. That's because Checkers is always purring and cuddling. Especially if you've found the sweet spot—the side of his sleek, slender face. But that doesn't mean he's without his hilarious moments. This young cat is still figuring things out, and is insatiably curious (what is it they say about curiosity and cats…?) so he occasionally finds himself stuck to or under things and slightly panicked about it. He needs a good friend to show him the ropes. Maybe it's you? Cheerio and Checkers were born 12/15/13.

If you are interested in learning more about Cheerio and Checkers, or know someone who might be interested, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com. We respond to all emails promptly. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours. please check your spam folder.

We are always in need of foster homes. If you are not able to adopt, but are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com to learn more.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Checkers, a Chicago Bombay cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bombay for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Bombay cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bombay breeders who help with Bombay rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
