My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SPUD is a 4 year old chocolate neutered male who weighs 65 pounds. Spud is a handsome boy who loves to play fetch. Like a typical young Lab, he has a lot of energy and will benefit from consistent exercise and training. He’s good with other dogs, but because he’s very energetic he’s sometimes too much for the other dogs. Spud is best suited to an adult-only (ages 18+) home.

Update (9/16): Spud bonds to his person (or two) and is reserved with others. He has shown a preference for woman but would also do well with a man who is kind and patient in getting to know him. He plays well with other dogs but would also do just fine as a solo dog, too. He has good house manners unless you leave something tasty on the counter. He is housetrained, and crates when asked.

Update (7/21): Spud is a gorgeous dog, but he needs a lot of exercise. He's good around other dogs and likes to play hard. He's a smart boy and yet he's aloof and a goofball. He loves to be outside and would love to have a big yard where he can play and run around. He is house and crate trained. He pulls on the leash, so an Easy Walk harness will help.

Update (6/01): Spud is a total sweetheart! He is energetic and so happy. He enjoys playing with tennis balls and throwing them around for himself. He also loves walking and cuddles. He is a big goof ball and has settled right in. He has had no accidents and is actually going to the door and whining when he needs to go out to go to the bathroom. He travels wonderfully in the car and sits in the back seat and rests his head on your shoulder. He weaves on the leash a bit and pulls when he sees other dogs but not nearly as strong with the harness.

He is a big klutz ~ it seems like he doesn’t know how big and wiggly he is. He’s been running around the house slipping on the floors and bumping into things (he doesn’t mind it at all, but it makes quite a scene). Overall he is so sweet and comes up to get scratched. He will actually lean into you so much that he falls over and then proceeds to roll on your hands while you scratch him. He seems interested in cats, birds, and squirrels, but doesn’t try and chase them- he’ll just sit and watch. Spud always has a big smile on his face and is a really special dog.

From LR transporter: Spud is a beautiful dog! It looks like his previous owner took great care of him based on the stack of records. Spud is VERY strong and gets excited on lead, so an easy walk harness will be good for him. Spud was very excited to see the other dogs at the vet and wanted to go meet them.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has around 50 dogs available for adoption.
