Emsley is a gem of a dog. She is shy at first but warms up very quickly. She is very charming and will lure you in with her big smile. She will be the dog that will happily greet you at the door with that smile. She exudes happiness and she is just happy and thankful to be alive. Best guess is she is an Aussie/Collie mix although she does have a tail. It's like a beautiful plume. Her markings are so nteresting. Whoever adopts this girl will be very lucky and thankful. Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
