My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Need a Companion?

Meet Shiloh, an adorable 5-year-old Lemon Beagle boy who has just finished his heartworm treatment (yea) and is ready for the next step of his new life, his forever home.

When Shiloh first came to me, he would hardly let me touch him. But during the last couple of months, after working with him, he is finally coming out of his shell. He likes to be petted and to sit on the couch next to me. He also loves to play with his foster sister Rosie, who has helped him to conquer his fears even more.

Shiloh is house trained, crate trained, minds well, rides well in the car, likes other dogs and likes cats. Not sure about children as he has not been kid tested, but he loves to hang around with his humans.

Shiloh’s forever home wishes include:

A single person or empty nesters who can treat him like he’s top dog.
MUST HAVE another dog because Shiloh is still “a dog in training” and needs the interaction of another dog
Medium crate
A fenced yard is always nice, but not always available. In this case good walks using a harness
Shiloh is such a sweet boy. He loves to be where ever I am, and is getting used to sitting on the couch with me, although a little guarded, is getting used to it. He is also learning that when I go to pet him, that I’m not going to hit him. He will need someone to be patient with him, but the more he’s held and loved on, the more he will continue to conquer the fear and shyness. He’s done such a good job so far, and he loves the attention. So if you’re looking for that perfect companion who will be with you all the time, and follow you from room to room, you need to meet Shiloh. I know you will fall in love with instantly the way I did.

Shiloh generally attends the Petsmart Adoption Event in Rockford, Illinois on the third Sunday of each month. Please check his webpage to see which events Shiloh will be attending.
