Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Snoopy. My foster family calls me Ben as in Ben Kenobi the amazing Jedi Knight from Star Wars. They said that name suits me better because I am older and wise! I am also a very happy boy!
My family left me at a shelter because I am old. But Midwest Brew came to the rescue!!! I went to the vet right away and was told I had a slight heart mumur, some arthritis and needed to put some weight on. The vet also said my teeth were in pretty bad shape. I went in for a dental a week later and had 28 -that's right 28- teeth pulled. But guess what? I came through it like a champ! First few days were rough, but I am good to go now. I still have some teeth to eat with. Foster mom soaks some dry food and puts a dollop of wet food in there and I can gobble it up without a problem.
I love taking walks and hanging out in the backyard. I hang out with my foster sister Biskit. She is another senior beagle with Midwest Brew. We get along great. When we take walks we mostly walk side by side. I love meeting other dogs and get super excited when I see them.
I live with a 9-year-old girl and 3 cats. I love kids and don't mind them cuddling with me. The cats have peaked my interest though. I wasn't sure what to make of them at first. I chased one and she gave me a smack on the nose. I now let them be. I try to keep my distance.
I like to sit and sleep on the couch at night and nap there during the day. I have to go into the crate these days when no one is home. I have a habit of climbing up on tables in the window and knocking everything off. Even when foster mom has moved everything out of my way I found a way to knock everything off. But that's ok… I don't mind the crate
The only time I marked in the house was when foster mom was dog sitting her friends’ male dog. After the first night I needed to make sure he knew I was here first and it was my home. Ever since he left I have not done it.
I am hoping to find a family that sees how wonderful an older gent can be. I have a lot of love and snuggling to offer. Could you be the family to offer it back????
Note from foster mom:
Snoppy aka Ben's arthritis and lack of teeth have not slowed this boy down. He loves long walks, can jump up on the couch and climb stairs. He is figuring out how to eat without as many teeth and is doing a great job at it.
