My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jaxie is a super cute little girl that arrived on 5/31. This gorgeous girl is 12 weeks old and arrived weighing in at 12 pounds and 6 oz. It is hard to see how pretty she is in the photos. Her coat is dark but she has these lighter almost silvery highlights and the same color on her belly. She also has a white patch on her chest. She was quiet and content in the car for the entire trip to rescue. When we got home she was happy to come out of the crate and into the world with the kind of curiosity you would expect from a puppy. She is a playful girl that also loves to get pets and scratches. She will give sweet kisses and snuggles in return! She is having a blast playing with a few toys and getting to know us. She was quiet in the crate last night until about 6am this morning, when I awoke to a bit of crying. I took her out and she pottied right away! The crate was clean and dry. Then, we came back in for breakfast and more play time. Jaxie is a typical puppy. She likes to chew toys and play with our other foster puppy. He is bigger than she is but she certainly holds her own! Our dog gave her warning grumbles and she quickly obeyed her request for space. She has also played with my 4 year old son. She has attempted all day to wait to potty until she was given a break but did have one accident, for a young pup, that is pretty darn good! I have touched her all over with no reaction. She will make a super addition to any family!

UPDATE: May 5th: Jaxie is a really sweet little girl! She has told us that she is done hanging out with her brother and would prefer to be with us whenever possible. She is getting sweeter by the day giving kisses and laying in our laps. She has done her absolute best to wait to potty outside and will go very quickly each time I take her. I take her every couple of hours to help build confidence. When I have made her wait a little too long she will cry to let me know that she would really like to go now. She enjoys time outside to romp and play and enjoys finding sticks to run around with. She loves any toy that I will give her and already will go straight for the squeaker! She has been doing better on the lead but not perfect. She has learned the path to the exercise pen and will take us there and back with no problem. She knows that she gets to have playtime when we get there. She is really benefiting from a solid routine as she has not had another accident in the house. She is just a puppy so she has a lot to learn, but she will learn quickly!
