Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Abe's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and somewhat silly looking) Abe tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Pug mix is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Abe became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great personality and kind and positive attitude toward the world. At just 7 months old and 15 lbs this gorgeous and oh- so- fun guy is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog he's capable of being. We'd love to match Abe to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it. Positive reinforcement group obedience class will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Abe and his family. Abe gets a ton of attention when he's out and about...we're stopped over and over by other walkers inquiring, "what kind of dog is that?" and "oh my, he is the cutest dog I've ever seen"! It's true...Abe is an unusual...and extremely eye-catching...mix of a Pug and Brussels Griffon. When he turns that gentle look in your direction, you can't help but smile at his silly antics and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young pup has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Abe's style. It's clear that Abe has left the pain behind...he couldn't be more joyful. Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older kids) for Abe ...it's not that he doesn't like young kids...we just feel he'll be more comfortable and settled with adults. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this pup. He would thrive on the time and attention that he could share....Abe is a loyal and positive puppy..that makes him very easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Abe would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 15 lbs, even a very well-adjusted puppy can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs. Abe has a cotton-soft coat that appears to be shed-free. It must be periodically groomed to keep it healthy and matt-free.
Abe is arriving on transport in Denver on 6/6. Applications are currently being accepted for this funny and very loving puppy.
