My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a rescue that is fun-loving, sweet and so very portable..we come up with Lassy.. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. The moment that she left her cage at a very high-kill Texas shelter, she was overcome with joy and her demeanor immediately changed. This curious and really, really smart 1.5 - 2 year old, 9- lb Doxy/Yorkie mix (Lassy was identified as this breed mix by Texas vets/shelter personnel) is a truly great companion. She might be initially shy, but give her a moment...a treat and a hug..and she desires to be your best friend. That means walking the gorgeous trails and paths of Colorado together, coming along to dog-friendly spots and snuggling at the end of the day. Even though Lassy is up for pretty much any activity, she's never pushy or yappy. Exercise and mental stimulation is important for this sweet, young girl to keep her happy and well-behaved... it's not that she requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep her healthy and stimulated. Since Lassy appears to love humans and other dogs that are respectful of her small size.. playtime in the yard or a family adventure would be just right for this social pup. She derives so much joy from her interaction with others (after taking a bit of time to bond and be comfortable), that we would love to see her in an active family that just loves her dearly...she's a great girl who deserves this in her life. We can envision Lassy with life-loving retirees. She would be overjoyed with spending that time together...she is a lap dog extraordinaire... and would be perfect for RVers or any active dog-lovers. This adorable and humorous Doxy/Poodle mix doesn't seem to shed...but if so...it is barely noticeable. Lassy will require periodic baths, grooming and great nutrition to get her potentially gorgeous coat soft and very healthy .

Lassy will be transported to Denver on 6/6. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted take-along companion.
